Hi, I’m Mikayla.
You’re thoughtful, self-aware, and deeply invested in creating a meaningful life and relationships that feel fulfilling, but that doesn’t always mean you feel confident, connected, or clear about how to get there.
Maybe you’ve spent years understanding why you feel the way you do, but still find yourself falling into the same relationship patterns. You might overthink, people-please, struggle to communicate what you need, have a hard time setting boundaries, or find yourself questioning your worth, your relationships, or whether you’re truly living in alignment with who you are.
Maybe you love your partner deeply, but keep having the same argument. You want to feel more connected, understood, and desired, but find yourselves getting caught in cycles of conflict, disconnection, or misunderstanding. Or perhaps you’re navigating dating, a new chapter in your relationship, family dynamics, or a major life transition and want support understanding what’s coming up beneath the surface.
You may even find yourself wondering, “Why do we keep having the same conversation?” or “Why do I keep showing up this way in my relationships?”
That’s where our work begins.
Together, we’ll explore:
the patterns and dynamics shaping your relationships
how your past experiences and attachment patterns influence the way you connect, communicate, and respond to conflict
how to communicate your needs, boundaries, and desires with greater clarity and confidence
the relationship you have with yourself including self-worth, perfectionism, and self-trust
how stress, anxiety, burnout, and life transitions may be affecting your relationships and sense of self
practical tools for emotional regulation, communication, intimacy, and creating lasting change
I believe that our symptoms often make sense when we understand the patterns underneath them. When we can slow down, become curious about what’s really happening, and see the cycle more clearly, we create the opportunity to respond differently.
Therapy with me is a space to understand yourself more deeply, strengthen your relationships, and build the skills to create the life and connection you want.
Whether you’re working through relationship challenges, wanting to feel more secure in yourself, or simply ready to grow into a new chapter, our work is about moving beyond simply coping.
Not just to function, but to relate, communicate, live, and love with greater clarity, connection, and intention.
My Approach
My approach is grounded in relational, systemic, and integrative therapy. I believe that our emotional lives are shaped not only by what happens within us, but also by the relationships, environments, and experiences that have shaped us.
Together, we won’t just identify patterns, we’ll work to understand where they come from, how they continue to show up in your relationships and emotional world, and how you can begin to shift the cycle itself.
My goal is to help you move through life with more clarity, emotional security, and self-trust, while developing a deeper understanding of yourself and the relationships that matter most.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in organizational psychology, strategy, and community-building, experiences that gave me a deep understanding of the pressures people face around achievement, identity, belonging, and relationships. I also bring a background in spirituality, mindfulness, positive psychology, and yoga, which informs my interest in the connection between emotional wellbeing, the body, and our sense of meaning and purpose.
This background helps me especially support clients navigating relationship stress, life transitions, career pressure, perfectionism, burnout, identity shifts, family dynamics, and the tension between who they are and who they feel they’re supposed to be.
I integrate:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – We explore the emotions and attachment needs underneath recurring relationship patterns, helping you communicate more openly and build greater emotional security.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) – We get curious about the different “parts” of you that may show up in moments of stress, conflict, fear, or self-doubt, creating more compassion and choice in how you respond.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – We identify the thoughts and beliefs that influence your emotions and behaviors, then develop practical ways to shift patterns that may no longer be serving you.
Gottman-informed Couples Therapy – We look at the patterns that emerge between partners and build practical skills for communication, conflict, friendship, intimacy, and creating a stronger emotional connection.
At the heart of my work is the belief that you are not the problem, the pattern is the place to begin.
When we understand the pattern, we create the possibility for something different.
What Working With Me Feels Like
Therapy with me feels warm, curious, collaborative, grounding, and insightful.
I move at your pace, while also gently challenging you when I see an opportunity for growth. Therapy is a space to feel supported and understood, but also to step outside of familiar patterns and create meaningful change.
Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. I believe depth and levity can coexist. There is space here for honesty, reflection, humor, vulnerability, and genuine connection.
I’ll meet you where you are while also gently challenging you to notice what may be keeping you stuck. Sometimes that means sitting with an uncomfortable emotion. Sometimes it means looking at a pattern you’ve been repeating. And sometimes it means figuring out what to actually do differently when you leave the room.
Above all, therapy with me is a partnership.
I bring clinical training, curiosity, perspective, and support. You bring your lived experience, patterns, questions, strengths, and goals.
Together, we create a space where you can better understand yourself without judgment and where insight can become something you actually use in your life.
We stay grounded in curiosity rather than judgment, compassion rather than criticism, and the belief that understanding yourself more deeply can create the freedom to choose differently.
